Since 2015 SOAS Radio has collaborated with SOAS doctoral candidate Taylan Güngör to record episodes for Ottoman History Podcast, which is recorded by academics around the world.

About Ottoman History Podcast:
Ottoman History Podcast began in March of 2011. It was a modest experiment aimed at finding an alternative form of academic production that explores new and more accessible media and allows for a collaborative approach. Since then the podcast has grown to be one of the largest digital resources for academic discussion concerning the Ottoman Empire and the modern Middle East. The recorded interviews and lectures, while still largely academic in tone, provide serious and constructive conversation in an accessible and almost human format that is easy on the brain and eyes.

Taylan Güngör joined the team in fall 2015 as the anchor of the newly-established London operations. He records out of SOAS Radio and edits the London podcast audio. Taylan is a doctoral candidate at SOAS, and his interests are in Medieval and Pre-Modern Eastern Mediterranean trading circles. His dissertation research is on trade in Istanbul after 1453.
