Dorothy Q Thomas discusses patriotism and human rights in the United States, ahead of her return to the country after working as a research associate at the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy.
Ms Thomas has a distinguished career in human rights, serving as the founding director of the Human Rights Watch Women’s Division from 1990-1998. In 1998 she received the Eleanor Roosevelt Human Rights Award from President and Mrs Clinton. and until January 2007 she was senior programme adviser to the US human rights fund.
She deliver her lecture, “E Pluribus Human”, at the School of Oriental and African Studies on June 13, 2011.
