SONGS IN THE KEYS OF LIFE? A MUSICAL WORKOUT

For some inexplicable reason, a bit of a keyboard theme developed in this week’s show. Don’t ask. Its inexplicable, remember? MADERA likes nothing better than a groovy two handed noodly jam, regardless of the music style? and today’s musical workout was brim full of them. So, straight out of the changing rooms…

? and limbering up with “Electronica’s Renaissance Man” (The Guardian) NICOLAS JAAR, we stretched with synthmeister MARK DE CLIVE LOWE, focussed on our inner core with some Township organ Jive from THE SOUL BROTHERS, free weights action to the Nairobi / Berlin collaboration of MODESELEKTOR, NAZIZI & ABBAS and to LOS CHICOS ALTOS out of Barcelona. Following on with some floor work to the unbelievably funky strains of COMPAORE ISSOUF from Burkina Faso & strong proto Disco routines in the mirror to CLAUDJA BARRY, we kicked the Latin jazz spinning ting to MONGO SANTAMARIA (given the JOE CLAUSSELL remix treatment), hit the treadmill to some pre Sugarhill ? rapper JOCKO (whilst the mustard like COLEMAN BROTHERS got right up the electro-balkan-swing-like NOZE …see what I did there?)?. and finally, we breathed in and out with ELLIS REGINA & JORGE BEN and lay flat on the floor drenched in a state of adrenalin and BILLY PAUL induced bliss…

Remember to drink plenty of water.
