Musicophilia EP10 with Lido Pimienta Thu, 2017-11-16 17:06

In episode 10 of Musicophilia Lia Lua interviews Toronto-based, Colombian-born musician and interdisciplinary artist, Lido Pimienta at her London gig at the Sebright Arms. We’ll be hearing music from Lido’s Polaris prize-winning album that came out last year, La Papessa, along with collaborations she’s done with electronic producers like Chancha Via Circuito and Thronato as well as music Lido listens to; from first-nation trance, through to soulful pop. We’ll also hear how she takes influences from her Wayuu and Afro-Colombian heritage, to how she explores issues around sexuality and intersectional feminism through her music.
