Outline:

SOAS radio is looking for a Fundraising Officer to help secure short and long term funding for its’ operations. This is an excellent opportunity for those seeking to work in the voluntary sector/International development as it offers a real insiders understanding into the processes involved in programme design, research and proposal writing. The successful candidate will work independently and with the Station director to ensure the successful development of SOAS Radio and will have a high degree of responsibility and autonomy.

Experience/Skills:

Essential:

  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • Ability to organise and plan effectively within tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Commitment to SOAS radio and its core mission,

Desirable:

  • Experience of fundraising for voluntary organisations/ knowledge of the sector
  • Experience of successful proposal writing
  • Experience of working with media focused projects / with media organisation’s

Duties:

Research and Analysis:

  • Support and lead research on potential funding streams;
  • Analyse research data and prioritise potential funders according to their applicability to SOAS radio’s aims and operations, summarising the needs for each applications

Proposal Writing

  • Support or lead on proposals for grants, sourcing and creating application documents in coordination with the fundraising manager/general manager
  • Help generate ideas for funding programmes.
  • support any ongoing funded projects and follow up on any previous submissions
